For decades, the standard for UHMWPE has been limited by two fundamental material characteristics:
Extreme Chemical Inertness: UHMWPE is a highly non-polar, smooth material. It lacks the functional chemical sites that traditional dye molecules require to bond, causing standard dyes to simply rinse off.

Because the fiber itself could not be dyed, the only way to achieve color was through Solution Dyeing (adding pigment during the extrusion of the fiber) or Yarn-Dyed (Color-Woven) processes. While effective for solid colors, this approach is extremely limited:

Limited Patterns: Achieving complex patterns or custom prints is nearly impossible or prohibitively expensive.
